It will works with lower rexes but if u want to be sure they don't lose much health, that's the way. U can use megatheriums too but rexes will work for other battles too so they are worth. Mine were around 30k 1200 hatch and I leveled them til 100k health 1500 melee All you need is at least 10 megatheriums Base stat around 15-20k health and sub 400% damage with a Yuty and a Daedon (optional) It will EASILY take care of the broodmother on gamma. Spinos did really well for me. This is my first proper playthrough of the game and I'm trying to kill every boss on every map. On Alpha difficulty, Broodmother receives a significant buff to health and damage, requiring very high armor saddles, imprinting, and the Yutyrannus's courage buff. Make sure you have a strong breeding line of whichever dino you're bringing to the battle.
