To assess eye movement, test fixation, saccades and pursuits. We observe a patients ability to fixate throughout our usual entrance testing, especially while watching him attend to a fixation target during cover testing. These four tests can help you evaluate saccades. (The NSUCO/Maples Oculomotor Test evaluates both saccades and pursuits.)Eye movements are used by a number of organisms (e.g. primates, rodents, flies, birds, fish, cats, crabs, octopus) to fixate, inspect and track visual objects of interests.
