I wouldn't buy a JD baler older than the 530. This was there first open throat baler and will start a bale with less problems. You should be able to find a 530 or 535 pretty reasonable as a lot of folks have went to net wrap balers.

If I'm not careful I can get the rope tied too tight to the tractor and when I turn it will pull the manual tie arm and make a random bale.
