This is not recommended for normal play, since it hides bottlenecks. In the No Spoon case, you want to hide bottlenecks.The first two hours is the most important to get right. Keep multiple saves. (Spoon-1, Spoon-2, etc.) at regular time intervals so you can backtrack if things go sideways. Huge starting area (I didn't realize this), rich large resources. I also prefer a desert starting area. Chopping trees costs time.
