In the picture below you will see a house made of wood blocking the crimson spread. In pre-hardmode this is fine since a single block can interrupt the spread. in this case since it is wider than 3 tiles the corruption can't reach the other side of the house in hardmode. The good thing about this is that corrupted plants can't grow.
