G56 fluid capacity
Jul 3, 2016 · Posted July 4, 2016. The NV5600 is known to be picky on fluids for it's syncro's. Delvac 50 is a MT-1 fluid which the primary application is non-syncro'd transmissions... not a great choice for something with picky syncro's. Delvac 50 doesn't meet any other specs, per Mobil. My manual offers the following info: Check the fluid level every oil change. The fluid level should be even with the bottom of the fill hole. It uses Mopar ATF+4 fluid, 12.4 pints. (Yep, ATF in a manual.) Change it every 60,000 miles. The drain & fill plugs tighten to 42 ft-lbs.

I have been running AMSoil ATF, which is what they recommend for the application. Chrysler recommends their C+4 ATF fluid. The G56 was rolled into production alongside the NV5600 during 2005, where it eventually replaced the New Venture. The transmission was not a selectable option for 2005, you either got the NV or the G56. I've got amsoil manual transmission and transaxle gear lube in my '17 G56 and it's noticeably stiffer than the royal purple or redline MTL.
