Jun 23, 2016 · EJH · #7 · Aug 2, 2016 (Edited) There is a TSB for bad A/C compressor clutches on recent models. It may apply to your 2017. My 2016 A/C was not much colder than with it turned off. I had my dealer look at it and they replaced the compressor. My Forester now has the coldest air of any Subaru I've owned (3 of them). My 2017 has similar behavior. AC will blow cold for a few minutes, then the compressor shuts off and the vent changes from outside air to recirculate, blowing warm air for a minute or two, then the compressor comes back on and the vent switches back to outside air and blows cold for a few minutes before repeating the cycle over and over.4901 posts · Joined 2010. #4 · Jul 3, 2021 (Edited) I answered "No" because my A/C has never quit cooling or died. However I recently had the o-rings replaced on the compressor and expansion valve because the dealer said they were leaking. The cost was out of my pocket because the factory warranty had expired.
